Project Background

As demand for traditional autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) blocks has continued to decline in recent years, many manufacturers have faced shrinking profits due to falling product prices and increasing market competition. To improve business performance and achieve sustainable growth, the customer decided to upgrade its existing production facility instead of continuing to manufacture conventional AAC blocks.

After evaluating several equipment suppliers and retrofit solutions, the customer selected Hengde's customized upgrade program, making this project the first 6-meter AAC production line transformation project in China. The objective was to convert the existing production line into an advanced EPS Foamed Concrete Block & Wall Panel Production system capable of manufacturing higher-value self-insulating building materials.

Customized Upgrade Solution

Based on the customer's existing factory layout and production equipment, Hengde developed a tailored retrofit solution that maximized the utilization of existing assets while introducing new production technology for homogeneous EPS self-insulating blocks.

The upgraded production line offers several advantages:

Installation & Technical Support

Hengde provided complete engineering support throughout the project, including production line evaluation, customized engineering design, equipment manufacturing, installation guidance, commissioning, and operator training. The engineering team ensured smooth integration between the upgraded equipment and the customer's existing production facilities, minimizing downtime during the transformation process.

Successful Transformation

The upgraded production line has been successfully commissioned with a production capacity of 500–600 cubic meters per day. The customer has successfully transitioned from conventional AAC block manufacturing to the production of homogeneous EPS self-insulating blocks with greater market value and stronger competitiveness. As China's first successful 6-meter AAC production line retrofit project, this case demonstrates Hengde's expertise in helping manufacturers revitalize existing production assets through innovative technology upgrades and customized engineering solutions.
